A couple of weeks ago I made bacon in the oven for the first time. It was also my first time ever cooking bacon as I have been avoiding it because of the splattering.  Thanks, Pinterest, for such an awesome tip! A couple of days ago, the Hubbs was craving Chinese food. Our favorite Chinese place is a little too far for us to drive when it's snowing so much, so we made egg rolls at home. Not just any egg roll, but baked egg rolls . {if you can bake bacon, then you can surely bake egg rolls, right?} YES! Ingredients : Egg Rolls sheets Cabbage Mixture (Cabbage, ground beef, onions, and carrots) Water for sealing the rolls Sesame Oil Soy Sauce Rice (optional) Steps: Prepare cabbage mixture in a pan with some soy sauce Fill one egg roll sheet at a time with some cabbage Seal the edges of the roll with water Brush a little bit of sesame oil on each roll, both sides Bake at 450 for about 10 minutes (or until you see it turn a light brown color) Here are

A little while ago in the midst of celebrating Thanksgiving, we celebrated my son's first birthday with a jungle theme.  See this post in case you missed it.   Paper Napkin Rings make a cute, simple, and detailed addition to any party.   Here's how I made mine. Supplies: Cardstock 2'' scallop circle hole punch Die Cut letters and numbers Double sided tape Steps: Cut strips of paper at 1'' by 4''. Cut as many scallop circles you need per napkin. I had already cut my die cut shapes at 1 1/2'' each using Doodletype Cricut Cartridge in bold. Now it's time to assemble: Tape your die cut shape onto the scallop circle. Place tape on the back of your circle Place the fork over the spoon and roll up your napkin with the utensils in it. My Baby Girl turned 3! Three years full of joy, laughter, exciting moments, and challenging times for us as parents. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Becoming a ' Mami ' (Mommy) has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. A few months ago she told me she wanted a Pink and Purple ' queque ' (cake) with ' cremie ' (cream). She also mentioned she wanted a Princess cake. So basically she chose her theme this year. My Mom made all the pom-poms out of tissue paper and arranged the balloons into bouquets that hung right above the back drop. The cake was the product of lots of team work. My Mom made the sugar flowers, my husband baked and decorated the cake, and I made the buttercream frosting for it. Around the table I used sparkly pink tulle to contrast the purple plastic cloth. It looked so cute! My daughter wore ruffled pants that I made using Viola Lee's Pattern . For the top, I made matching ruffles and sewed it as a colla
